What it is for
What you will be able to do.
For anyone who operates or wants to operate forklifts: warehouse operators, machine operators, logistics staff and other professionals who need certified training to handle loads.
It is also suitable for companies that want to train their staff in line with current law (Decree-Law no. 50/2005).
The course has two parts, both mandatory:

Identify the parts of the machine and carry out checks and basic maintenance before work.
02Safety rules and good practice
Operating rules, personal protective equipment and moving around a warehouse.
03Loading and unloading manoeuvres
Lifting, moving, stacking and unstacking loads safely.
04Accident prevention
Stability, load capacity and reducing risks in the workplace.
05Applicable law
Decree-Law no. 50/2005 and workplace safety obligations.
06Practical operation
Real handling, stacking and moving around a warehouse, in the practical part.

Who is the course for?
For warehouse operators, machine operators, logistics staff and other professionals who operate or want to operate forklifts. Also for companies that want to train their staff in line with Decree-Law no. 50/2005.
Do I need experience?
No. The course starts with the basics.
What are the requirements?
Be at least 18, because operating these machines carries extra responsibility.
Does the course include practice?
Yes. The course has two mandatory parts: forklift theory (8 hours, online) and forklift practical (8 hours in person: 4 of theory + 4 of practice).
How long does it last?
16 hours in total, between the online theory part and the in-person practical part.
What do you learn?
To identify the forklift's components and systems, apply safety rules, carry out safe loading and unloading manoeuvres, prevent accidents and comply with the applicable law.
Is the course certified?
Yes. When you complete it successfully you receive a vocational training certificate issued through SIGO, in line with the Portuguese Labour Code and ACT rules.
Is the certificate valid throughout the country?
Yes, it is valid nationwide. It is the document companies ask for to prove you are qualified to operate forklifts.
