What you need
Documents required
To issue the International Driving Permit:
- Original Portuguese driving licence or licence from a European Economic Area country (if you hold another document replacing your driving licence, contact the school)
- 1 passport-style colour photograph, printed on photo paper
- Photocopy of your Identity Card / Citizen Card or another official document (for example, a passport)
We only make a photocopy of your identity document with your consent. If you prefer not to provide it, you can apply for the International Driving Permit in person at an IMT counter.

Do I need it for every country?
No. It depends on the destination country. Tell us where you are going and we will confirm.
Which documents do I need?
Your original driving licence, 1 passport-style colour photograph on photo paper and a photocopy of your identity document (Identity Card, Citizen Card or another official document, such as a passport).
What if I don't want to provide a photocopy of my identity document?
In that case, you can apply for the International Driving Permit in person at an IMT counter.
